Son Gual is a private golf club, family-owned, where visitors are always welcome providing that they enjoy the game, are familiar with and respect the norms of etiquette.

The design by Thomas Himmel de Son Gual is challenging, well thought out, incredibly demanding and converts this 156-hectare hilly landscape into one of the best courses in the Mediterranean region.

The course is designed in the shape of two large turns. The first nine holes are spread along the perimeter of the course with the following nine placed towards the interior.

The course is integrated between large lakes with streams which were planned as sources of irrigation, forming at the same time an attractive architectural landscape and which now also serve as demanding obstacles.

GOLF SANTA PONSA

Six times site of the European Tour.

Golf Santa Ponsa, course one was inaugurated in 1977, making it the top golf course in the Calviá area and the second in Mallorca.

Sited on one of the best properties of the municipality with beautiful views of Puig de Galatzó, it has a length of 6,543m with a course of 18 holes, par-72. Hole 10 (par-5) is one of the biggest in Europe at 590m.

GOLF ALCAIDESA

Golf Alcaidesa is the first links course built in Spain and the most southern in Europe. It has 18 holes. It was designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark and resembles the courses on the Scottish coast.

As a links course it chains together holes along the Alcaidesa beach, granting impressive views of the Mediterranean with Africa in the background and Gibraltar in front. One of its defining characteristics is the strong wind making it difficult to keep the ball on the path.

GOLF VALDERRAMA

Since 1988, Valderrama has been considered the number one course in Continental Europe, and it is included in all rankings of the 100 best courses in the world.

It is par-71, measuring 6.390 metres from the “Championship Tees”. Its paths are considered the best in Europe (and in the world) by experts and professional players. It is not an easy course because it needs great precision and strategy to play successfully.

It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1974 and originally named “Las Aves” (today Sotogrande). In 1985 it was bought by Jaime Ortiz-Patiño and his objective was to bring it to the best level ever. Robert Trent Jones Sr. then had to return to redesign and improve the original course.

The course was renamed “Valderrama”, the name of the property on which it stood.
